Home Improvement Tips and Tricks

Repair Chairs and Tables

One of the most annoying problems you could have is wobbly furniture. Here’s a simple remedy:  take them apart, label them, so you can put them back easily, and use a chisel to remove any excess glue or wood, re-apply some glue, and put the parts together.

Stop Leaks

Sometimes, homes just seem to have leaks all at the same time! The solution to this is to install a water shut off valve. Before you start, turn off the main water supply to your house, clean the insides of the copper pipe, and attach the shut-off valve.

Clean Mirrors

All you need are some simple home repair tricks to see yourself again in the mirror-like taping aluminum foil to the back of it.

Smooth Drawers

Some common home repairs often rely on a simple trick, and for this one, all you need to do is rub a stick of an old candle against the bottom of the drawer where it touches the dresser. Repeat on the dresser itself, and you’ll be getting stuff in and out of your drawer without any difficulty.

Bathroom Mold

Mold is a common problem that has affected everyone. Because humidity is often the reason fungi start to grow, a simple way to deal with mold is to open a window after a shower to dry out the moisture in the air.

Leaking Copper Pipes

This common home repair sounds difficult, but fixing a leaking copper pipe is pretty easy. Just cut out the leaky part of the pipe and replace it with a clean one. It’s simple and efficient.

New Dishwasher

We’re all guilty of abusing our dishwashers. As expected, they need replacing once in a while. For this common home repair, shut off the water and electric supply before disconnecting the plugs from the old dishwasher. Once you’ve attached your new dishwasher, make sure to do a test run.

Fire Pit

Using the fire pit is inevitable, especially during regular outdoor gatherings with friends. A very common problem is abusing the ash pan at the bottom of the pit. This ash pan is irreplaceable, so you must get a metal sheet to drill over your old ash pan.

Curtain Rod Anchors

Among common home repairs, this is an important one if you like to decorate your house. With materials like toggle bolts and snap toggle linking your curtain rod anchor to the wall, you’ll have no problem hanging any kind of curtain.
